15 Aug From comedy to car sharing
Inspiration can be found in almost any form. The fact is, there is no age limit on doing something new. Whether you want to launch a new business or just start a new hobby, age is nothing more than a number.
Whether you are 20, 30, 40 or 50, success can come at any age, and there are a number of people out there who have proven that. There are so many examples to draw upon.
You may know who Joy Behar is. She formerly co-hosted the hit television show The View with Barbara Walters. Prior to her spot on The View, Behar was a high school English teacher. She didn’t enter show business until after 40 years old. Now how about that?!
If you live in a place like Portland or San Francisco, you’ve likely heard of or seen a Zipcar. These small, rentable vehicles come courtesy of Robin Chase, who post-40, formed the idea for the car-sharing company in 2000.
Even the late, great Rodney Dangerfield didn’t get his big break until he was almost 47 years old. Finally, on the Ed Sullivan show, he started his journey to becoming a household name.
Have you heard of Duncan Hines? It was at 55 that he wrote his first food and hotel guide. By 73 he would have his name licensed to develop into the Duncan Hines cake mix you know and love today.
No matter who you are, what your age is, or what dream may be germinating in your mind, realize that you CAN do it!
